The Shallow Storm Crate 100Litre from Pennine Manufacturing is a compact, high-strength crate used for stormwater management. With a low overall height of just 100mm, it’s ideal for sites with limited excavation depth, such as roof gardens, landscaped areas, and car parks.
100L capacity per crate – 10 units = 1m³ of storage
91% void ratio maximises water retention
High compressive (>320kN/m²) and lateral (>150kN/m²) strength
Suitable for shallow installations with minimal cover
Supports a wide range of loading conditions
This crate is designed for attenuation and infiltration systems, storing rainwater during peak flow and gradually releasing it into the ground or drainage system. Crates can be wrapped in non-woven geotextile membrane for infiltration systems, or used with impermeable geomembrane to retain water for reuse (e.g., irrigation or toilet flushing).
1 tonne: 200mm
2 tonnes: 250mm
5 tonnes: 300mm
10 tonnes: 400mm
12 tonnes: 450mm
If selected, the crate is supplied with a cut-to-size sheet of non-woven geotextile:
1 crate: 2.25m x 3m (6.75m²)
3 crates: 2.25m x 7m (15.75m²)
6 crates: 2.25m x 13m (29.25m²)
This wrap prevents soil ingress while allowing water to pass through.
