Reliable Sealing For Membrane Overlaps & Sheeting Joints
Geotextile Double-Sided Butyl Jointing Tape is a specialist PIB-based sealing strip used to form strong, watertight joints between overlapping layers of geotextile, damp proof membranes and plastic sheeting. Suitable for construction and civil engineering applications where membrane sealing is essential.
Practical Jointing Tape For Membrane Installation
This tape is commonly used to seal laps in DPMs, geotextiles and containment linings. It improves installation quality by providing a secure, instant bond, helping to maintain the integrity of the membrane system. Especially useful when wrapping attenuation tanks, lining infiltration trenches or applying radon/methane-resistant membranes.
Typical Uses Include:
- Sealing overlaps in geotextile membranes
- Jointing plastic sheeting and damp proof membranes
- Assisting installation of radon/methane-resistant systems
- Applications in groundwork, drainage and containment
Key Features
- PIB-based (polyisobutylene) preformed sealing tape
- Creates an instant watertight seal
- Simple, clean application with no tooling required
- Solvent-free, non-toxic and safe to handle
- Allows consistent control over sealant application

FAQs
Is this tape suitable for all membrane types?
Yes, it's suitable for geotextile, DPM and plastic membranes. Always ensure compatibility if using with specialist barriers.
Can I use this tape when installing radon or methane membranes?
Yes, it’s widely used to help seal overlaps when installing gas membranes, but it’s not a gas barrier on its own.
Does it provide a waterproof seal?
Yes, the butyl formulation creates an instant, watertight seal under pressure.
How long does the bond last?
The product has a typical life expectancy of 20 years under normal conditions.
Do I need special tools for installation?
No. Simply press into place by hand and remove the release liner.
