Galfan Coated Welded Mesh Gabion Basket - 1m Cube

Gabions baskets are a mass retaining system and all the baskets need a firm base, so there is no need to dig a foundation.

They are used in a wide variety of situations involving ground stabilisation and erosion control. However, there are also times when gabion baskets can be used to create decorative additions to gardens, car parks and suchlike. It can also be used for river control, canal refurbishment, reservoirs, landscaping and retaining walls. 

The permeable nature of the gabions mean water can come through them which stops a build-up of water and the ground becoming waterlogged. On the subject of 'flood protection', water can be prevented from coming through the baskets by lining them with thick plastic sheeting.
