Galfan Coated Welded Mesh Gabion Basket - 0.55m Cube

Gabion baskets are used primarily as mass retaining systems and all the baskets require is a firm base, so no need to dig a foundation.

They are used in a wide variety of situations involving ground stabilisation and erosion control, they can also be used for river control, canal refurbishment, reservoirs, landscaping and retaining walls.

Gabion baskets can also be used to create decorative additions to gardens, car parks and suchlike.

The permeable nature of the gabion baskets allows water to run through them which helps prevent a build-up of water, which can lead to the ground becoming waterlogged. On the subject of 'flood protection', water can be prevented from running through the baskets by simply lining them with thick plastic sheeting.
