The Alusthetic Aluminium Threshold Drain is a low-profile, modular drainage system designed for use at entrances, patios, and paved walkways. Its 65mm-wide PVC channel and aluminium heelguard grate (black or silver) provide discreet, effective water management for non-trafficked, domestic areas.
Designed with self-builders in mind, installation is straightforward: dig a 15cm trench, lay a stabilised sand base (1 part cement to 3 parts sand), and position the drain in place. The bottom outlet requires a 45mm hole to be drilled in the base, or use the integrated side outlet at either end of the channel. Channels can be trimmed to length with a saw, and all joints can be sealed with PVC glue if required.
Backfill around the drain to pavement height, keeping the removable grate in place during installation. End caps, T-pieces, and corner units clip securely into position for a watertight connection. A trap is recommended when connecting to a foul sewer.
Excavate a 15cm-deep trench. Lay a 1:3 cement/sand base. Insert the channel and connect outlets. Backfill and level with paving.
The side outlet is integrated into the end cap. The bottom outlet requires a 45mm hole drilled in the base. Use standard 50mm or 80mm fittings.
